ABOUT
An archive of 614 times the press and pundits declared Bitcoin dead (2010–2026). Explore the timeline, filter by source type, and compare obituaries to BTC price history.
PROJECT
This site is an open archive of declarations that Bitcoin is dead, doomed, or a fraud — from mainstream press, pundits, officials, and academics. Each entry is a datapoint: date, source, title, and (where available) a short summary and link to the original. The timeline is plotted against BTC price history so you can see how often “death” coincided with local lows — and how often it was wrong.
METHODOLOGY
Entries are included when a piece clearly declares Bitcoin dead, fundamentally doomed, a fraud, or headed to zero — not merely “risky” or “volatile.” Sources include articles, blog posts, official statements (e.g. central banks), opinion pieces, podcasts, and social posts. Duplicates (same story, multiple outlets) may appear as separate entries when they add distinct phrasing or context. Summaries and metadata are derived from the originals or generated for consistency; we do not alter the original titles or dates.
CITING / LINKING
You can link to the archive, individual entry pages, or this about page. For press or research, cite https://bitcoindiedagain.com and “Bitcoin Died Again” as the archive name. New obituaries can be suggested via the submit page.
History will remember.
